NYT provides steady reading for the armchair Israeli general

Apparently the first step to understanding the Gaza conflict is to put oneself in the shoes of an Israeli soldier. Reading Steve Erlanger’s account in The New York Times of the “fog of urban warfare” (same link), one might guess that Israel is the 51st state of the U.S.A. Good Lord.
